About

Historic Rangeley's Outdoor Heritage Museum features fascinating collections and exhibits detailing the human experience in the legendary Rangeley Lakes Region of Maine. Learn about the first Paleoamerican people that inhabited this land nearly 13,000 years ago; explore the stories of those that came to live and work in this remote region in the 19th and 20th centuries; learn about the wildlife of Western Maine; and experience Rangeley’s gilded age as a seasonal playground for outdoor recreationalists and anglers in search of the region’s famous native brook trout. At the Museum, you can even step inside an authentic trapper's cabin from the early 1900s!

The Outdoor Heritage Museum is a must-see, family-friendly experience for all ages. Children 12 and under receive free admission and will enjoy interactive scavenger hunts during their visit.

The Museum Store features Maine-made crafts, books, posters, and other unique items inspired by Rangeley Region history.
